I mostly explored many unknown cenotes around Merida with Yucatan Cenote Tours, and didn't get a chance to do much else. However, based upon just the few cenotes I saw and the friendly people we came across, I LOVE Merida! ;) Can't wait to go back.

Loving this city! It is said to be the safest city in Mexico. I've been having a wonderful time wandering the streets enjoying the delicious food and the beauty of old colonial buildings.

Merida is the capital of the Yucatan and a cultural hub. Although a large city, it is a pleasant one and we loved spending days strolling through the parks and taking in the beautiful buildings on the city centre. The town is especially vibrant on Sundays when all families are out and about, enjoying their weekend. Merida can certainly be considered the cultural capital of the Yucatan.

Merida is a very cool city with a lot of culture. It is about 3 1/2 hours away from Tulum by car. It is a must see city if you are in the area.
