We loved the pace of Campeche. It is very relaxed and a town that can mostly be explored on foot. The beautiful colonial town lies adjacent to the sea and there is a large promenade that stretches along the seaside – the perfect place for an evening stroll. We visited during Day of the Dead when the entire city was out in force, celebrating this special event in the Mexican calendar.
Another Unesco world heritage site known for its Colonial history. A bit off the beaten path though as it is 6 hours from Cancun.
This city is very old and unique. It is a walled city. The surounding area is not as nice as what you find within the walled area. It is very colonial.
Campeche is a small little colonial gem at the Golf of Mexico.
