Aguascalientes is a Mexican city you can reach either with the car or with a domestic flight from Mexico City. It developed in colonial times and later it grew around its factories and today its economy still depends on them. What is interesting about the town for athletes is the atmosphere. The city is one of the best places in Mexico to train for soccer or bicycle races. In fact, the oxygen in the air rarefies as part of the town is at a height of 2,500 to 3,000 meters (8,202 to 9,843 ft) above sea level, improving a better training and endurance. Up in the mountain there is the Natural Protected Reserve, a protected area for forests and animal wildlife. Finally, as in many Mexican cities, the food is delicious. The diet is based on corn, the cereal is baked, toasted and cooked in so many different ways that at times you don’t even taste it.
