I love it! All bad things about Iran are a myth! It's a must visit place with the most humble people on planet.
A clean cool city! Mashhad is one of the religious cities of Iran moreover you can find a lot of interesting activities to do. The modern face of the city will surprise you!
I long to return. I was in Mashad back in 1978 it was a very exciting time to be in Iran, but tense as well. The city, the second largest in Iran positioned close to the Afghanistan and Turkmenistan borders is right at the cross-roads of the old Silk Road. The bazaar was very colorful and energetic. The highlight and must do is to visit the beautiful shrine to Iman Reza, (he the eighth Iman) this is a huge pilgrimage site. A special place - I hope so much to go back to again.
It was agreat city with a wonderful climate
