Beautiful beaches, life guarded, great fish dinners, lots of fresh fruit, If you are not a swimmer and don't enjoy sunning, you will not like Cuba. My husband and I loved it. We met some interesting people while visiting there.

You will see more of Germany than Cuba here: Varadero is Cuba's package holiday hotel hub. Everyone except for the staff at these hotels are foreigners. The beaches, however, are exquisite. I did enjoy them. There are some "casa particulares" (private houses) that foreigners are allowed to stay at these days which is a cheaper and more interesting way to experience Cuba if you wish to stay in this lovely coastal resort town.

Such an amazing town with so much to offer! Shopping, cafes, tours and beaches all there! All basically on one street so it's easy to see it all. Very cool looking old buildings and houses that are still being used. Extremely safe and locals are so friendly!! Been going there for 2 weeks every yesr now for the past 8 years. Love it!
