Yinchuan is a pretty cool city. Standard provincial city but with a few sights in town and a whole range of good sights around town. There's plenty of accommodation in all ranges and it is cheap to eat here. The city may not look that attractive, but boasts a great night market right in the middle of town. Both Muslim and North Chinese food is really good here, and the market is going on well into the night.
