This relatively modern Western Chinese city offers little to tourists. More a transit hub than a destination itself. The Ethnic Culture Museum is a nice intro to regional cultures but is a bit overwhelming. Uruqmqi is predominately Chinese. Not the place to really feel Xinjiang / Uyghur culture.

Incredibly lively nightlife, considering it's far far far away.
