It's a very clean and spacious city with no traffic anywhere you go. Population is low across the entire state so it's very easy to make friends and remember people. Also some of the best coffee beans and brews come from Tasmania. Great culture!
While not Tasmania's prettiest town, Launceston is a place perfectly situated as a base from which to explore the island's northeast (fun fact: most reported sightings of the presumed-extinct Tasmanian tiger come from this area). Even if you're on foot, though, there are still scads of great nature opportunities all around. A walk in the stunning Cataract Gorge, nearby, is a perfect place to start.
This is one of the finest places of unique experiences in surroundings with delicious and royal Dining. Here you can visit Steel Water, Fee and Me and black cow. Royal part and City Park in regular intervals organizing events.
Launceston is one of Tasmania's major cities. I made a stop here when I took a road trip along Tasmania. I was struck by the small-town feel and the pedestrians walking all over the city since everything was within walking distance. The old-school architecture also gives Launceston some of its charm.
