The focal point of both festivals is the Tronada, where a collection of gunpowder filled mortars are set off all around the city’s main square.

Getting around Reus

Reus Airport is well connected, with bus timetables matching up well with flight arrival times. There’s a local bus which takes visitors straight to the center of Reus. If you want to explore a little more of Catalonia there are also direct buses to Barcelona and Tarragona as well as a circuit bus running through La Pineda, Salou, and Cambrils.

Reus itself is small enough to explore on foot. There are good public transport links to nearby towns, if you want a change of scene. Catch the bus to Salou for a day at the beach, or take the train into Barcelona for some big city atmosphere. Tarragona has lots of Roman architecture and makes for an interesting day trip.

What to bring on a holiday to Reus
