Local claim that “Asturias is Spain- the rest is conquered territory.” It’s different from the sunny costas we all know and love, but there’s plenty to love about Spain’s wettest region. Breathtaking mountain scenery, peaceful beaches, lively cities and fantastic cuisine characterise the principality. This is Spain at its greenest, with 24 nature reserves and unspoilt woodland. The culture is different here, with more Celtic than Iberian influences, but if you visit during the summer you’re sure to be blessed with plenty of Spanish sunshine.
