Flights to Kinshasa N'Djili

One of Africa’s most populated cities, and the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kinshasa is as chaotic as you would imagine. Hustle and bustle doesn’t quite cover it: the traffic is intense, the street hawkers are persistent, and there’s a sharp contrast between affluent modernity and heartbreaking poverty. Once the initial shock wears off, you’ll find plenty to love about this vibrant city. The people are friendly, the music scene is excellent, and the banks of the Congo are perfect for a barbecue.

Airports in Kinshasa

N'Djili International Airport (FIH) or Kinshasa International Airport is the largest international airport in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. During 1998 the airport played a key role in the Second Congo War, when rebel forces were chased off by Zimbabwean troops.

The airport is far from modern: in fact it still has some infrastructure remaining from the Belgian colonial era. In recent years there have been some improvements. Computers have been added to make passport control more efficient, and the airport experience is generally less chaotic than it once was.

Another option is to hire a car at the airport and drive into the city. It’s always a good idea to reserve your rental car in advance.
