Baroque and beautiful, the city of Dresden has literally risen from the ashes to become one of Germany’s most exciting destinations. Despite suffering heavy fire-bombing at the end of WWII, the iconic buildings of Dresden have been lovingly restored so the 800 year old city has maintained its old fashioned grace and charm. That’s not to say the city itself is old fashioned. Sparkling new architecture, buzzing nightlife and burgeoning art scene ground Dresden firmly in the present.
