Skyscanner is a great place to work: it’s official!

Skyscanner scoops string of honours in UK's biggest employer awards.

Skyscanner has come SIXTH in The Sunday Times Best Companies To Work For awards.

SKYSCANNER is the sixth best medium-sized company to work for in the UK, according to an annual contest to find the best employers in Britain – The Sunday Times Best Companies To Work For.

The Sunday Times list ranks the best of Britain’s businesses. While Skyscanner came 86th in the Best 100 Small Companies list in 2011, this year it went straight in at number six in its debut appearance in the Best 100 Mid Companies category.

This was not the only achievement in an amazing night for Skyscanner. The company scooped the top honour in TWO categories: ‘Most Exciting Future’ and ‘Best Personal Growth’, while it also came second for both ‘Company Pride’ and ‘Most Inspiring Leaders’. The company also scored in the top 25 for every measure, including Leadership, Wellbeing, My Company, Giving Back, Personal Growth, My Manager, My Team and Fair Deal.

In a further triumph, Skyscanner won Best Learning and Development (for a mid-sized company) for its work on Skyscanner University, with staff saying that ‘opportunities to learn and grow are unlimited’. The company also scored highest on ‘being excited about where our company is going’. CEO Gareth Williams came second for Best Leader.

The list is devised by Best Companies, who have been producing and publishing the ‘Best Companies to Work For’ lists since 2001 to measure and acknowledge excellence in workplace engagement. The results are based on the largest employee engagement survey of its type in the UK. The responses from these surveys are collated and combined to produce an overall engagement score for each organisation. Only the organisations with the highest level of overall employee engagement qualify for the 100 Best Mid Companies to Work For list. A total of 897 organisations entered and 250,000 employees took part.

The rankings are based purely on the views of Skyscanner’s UK-based employees, who have been with the company for over two months, who took part in the survey in October 2013. For every survey completed Skyscanner donated £5 to Disability Snowsport UK, who work to make sure that anyone with a disability, may it be learning, sensory or physical, can ski or snowboard alongside other people.
