We’re excited to welcome Salma de Graaff as VP People, joining Skyscanner’s executive team.
Formerly Chief People Officer at Travix, Salma joins Skyscanner to head up the travel company’s end-to-end People function. Salma is an internationally experienced HR leader, having lived and worked in three continents throughout her career. She brings with her nearly 20 years’ professional experience, most recently supporting modernisation and growth in Engineering, Product and Finance teams in an OTA environment.

In her role as VP of People, Salma leads Skyscanner’s global People function, covering Talent Acquisition, Reward, HR operations, Learning & Development, as well as Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for Skyscanner’s 6 office locations across Europe, Americas and Asia Pacific.

The travel industry fills me with energy; with family living around the world and my own experiences of living and working abroad, I firmly believe that travel helps the world connect. Skyscanner has a strong sense of culture and values which are clearly embedded in everything they do, and a lot of that is down to the people who work there.

Salma brings with her over a decade of experience in HR, Performance management and People, as well as significant commercial acumen which she gained in early career sales roles based in England’s Midlands. Since then, her professional experience has taken her to Scotland, Suriname, the Netherlands and Ethiopia, where she set up a L&D and performance culture for Heineken to promote growth for the business. Most recently, Salma was chief people officer for Travix, one of the largest online travel agents in the Netherlands. At Travix, she was part of the executive management team, reporting to the CEO and leading a global team covering Talent Acquisition, Reward, Growth, HR Operations, Internal and External Comms and Facilities for the company’s five country locations in Singapore, India, Netherlands, UK and USA.
Salma has dual British and Dutch citizenship and is married with one child. She is passionate about cultural diversity and inclusivity as well as being personally and professionally committed to elevating and empowering diverse voices in the workplace.
