Skyscanner adds new airline safety information to help travellers make flight decisions with confidence

This week, we launched new airline safety ratings on Skyscanner to help travellers search for, and choose flights based on the health and safety measures being undertaken by airlines, as well as what will be expected from passengers who fly with those providers.  

Powered by in an exclusive global partnership with Skyscanner, the at-a-glance ratings score airlines based on their health and safety policies in the wake of COVID-19.  

Travellers will be able to see individual airline scores for each of the following criteria: 

  • Face masks mandatory 
  • Plane deep cleaned daily 
  • Flight crew wearing PPE 
  • Passenger sanitation packs provided 
  • Changes to food service 

We launched the ratings based on in-depth customer insights relating to flight safety concerns in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. A June survey* of over 850 travellers highlighted that airlines’ approach to passenger and crew wellbeing was the most important element to help reduce traveller anxiety and inform flight selection, followed by health screening processes and enhanced cabin cleaning processes.

With this week’s launch, we’re pleased to be able to provide that additional layer of clarity from hundreds of the world’s airlines.”  

This initiative is part of our commitment to empower travellers to make travel decisions with confidence and support the travel industry’s recovery in these challenging and uncertain times.

Skyscanner partnered with to surface comprehensive and trustworthy ratings sourced directly from more than 400 airlines globally, with data regularly being refreshed as airlines update their information. Ratings are live across all global markets for Skyscanner users on desktop platforms.
