Driving around Savannah/Hilton Head Airport
The I-96 interstate highway passes close by the airport. Automatic transmissions are more common than manual ones. There are a lot of busy roads to navigate, so make sure you're comfortable with your rental car before heading out of the parking lot. Remember: traffic in America drives on the right-hand side of the road. It's worth being extra wary, especially when making a turn at a junction.
Getting to your destination

History and hedonism combine in Georgia's oldest city. Antebellum mansions and trees dripping with Spanish moss add sultry Southern flavour, while the numerous bars and clubs provide plenty in the way of pleasures of the flesh.
Downtown Savannah is just over 15 minutes drive from the airport. There are more than three thousand on-street parking spaces, five municipal parking garages, and six surface car parks in the city centre. If you're staying in Savannah for a few nights it's well worth looking for hotels with car parking. This will save you time, money, and energy.
This South Carolina playground is an excellent destination for a chilled out holiday. Pristine beaches, excellent golf courses, and massive parades for St Patrick's Day and Pride.
It takes about 45 minutes to drive to Hilton Head from the airport. Parking is a mixture between metered spaces and surface car parks. Most hotels in the area have guest car parks. It's a good idea to confirm this before booking. The town becomes very busy during the summer high season, and it can be tricky to find a space.
With six PGA golf courses, two tennis courts, and a number of swimming pools, the island a favourite with older holidaymakers who like to stay active. The most popular resort is The Landings, a gated community. The state park is worth a visit during the cool season for long and relaxing hikes.
It takes about 40 minutes to drive to Skidaway Island from Savannah/Hilton Head Airport. There are large car parks and plenty of places to leave your car. There are security guards at the main gate of The Landings, so if you're planning to visit you will need to go through a sort of border control.
