Driving around Kos Airport
There’s no need to worry about hitting a busy motorway straight after picking up your car. The roads around the airport are small and easy to navigate, just like most of the roads on Kos. Most of the roads only have two-lanes: remember that traffic drives on the right in Greece and you will be fine.

It takes just over 25 minutes to drive to Kos Town from the airport. The streets in Kos are narrow and winding, so driving and hunting for a parking space can be quite stressful. Parking is also restricted in many areas so pay attention to signs: in some places you can only leave your car for up to half an hour. There is a car park five minute’s walk from the harbour. It’s best to look for hotels in Kos with car parking.
With its white sandy beaches and smattering of historic attractions, the modern town of Kardamena is a favourite destination for tourists holidaying in Kos.
It takes less than ten minutes to drive to Kardamena from Kos Airport. Many of the hotels have their own car parks, so you don’t have to worry about finding a secure space for your rental vehicle. It’s always best to confirm this with your hotel first.
