It takes just under an hour to drive to Sheffield from Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Drivers should head towards Doncaster on the A638 before picking up signs for the M18 motorway heading southwest. The A61 is a ring road running around Sheffield city centre making navigation a little easier.

There are lots of car parks around the city, with some charging just £2 for a whole day’s parking. If you find a street parking space, there won’t be a time limit but you’ll need to pay from Monday to Saturday from 8am to 8.30pm. Visitors heading to the city on Sundays, will find a special flat rate of £1 for a whole day’s parking.


Matlock is a historic spa town in Derbyshire. It is located on the edge of the Peak District and full of quaint, old architecture. The Heights of Abraham cable car offers views of Matlock and the surrounding countryside and there are a number of parks around the town. The Peak District Mining Museum and the Druids Caves are also within easy reach.

Matlock is an hour and 15 minutes’ drive from Doncaster Sheffield Airport, taking the M18 and then the M1 south towards the Peak District. Visitors will find a number of designated car parks and street parking spaces around the city, with 24 hour parking available.
