Where to hire a car at Delhi Airport
Carzonrent is the only car hire company providing rental on-site at Delhi Airport. The desk can be found in the International Terminal. If you're flying domestic you will need to take the free inter-terminal shuttle.
Petrol stations near Delhi Airport
If you select a 'full to full' car rental agreement you will need to hand your car back with a full tank.
There are service stations on the Delhi-Ajmer Expressway just before the slip-road to the airport.
Driving around Delhi Airport
The Delhi-Ajmer Expressway passes near the airport. This is the busiest motorway in India, connecting a number of important cities with the capital and Mumbai: the sub-continent's most important financial centre. It's a huge six-lane affair, so be prepared for chaotic traffic. People in India drive on the left side of the road, just like the UK.

It takes about 25 minutes to drive to downtown Delhi from the airport. Parking in the city can be tricky, although lots of hotels in Delhi have car parking. You can find them easily when you search with Skyscanner, just look for the 'parking' check-box underneath 'facilities' on the left-hand sidebar.
Home of the Taj Mahal, Agra offers a fantastic blend of Mughal history and buzzing street-life. There are lots of interesting destinations within day trip distance, including the ruins of Fatehpur Sikri.
It takes about three and a half hours to drive to Agra from Delhi Airport. You can't drive right up to the Taj Mahal, although there is a car park where you can take a more eco-friendly form of transport which drops you near the famous building. There are hotels in Agra with car parking, which is a great option if you're staying overnight as there are few on-street spaces.
The birthplace of Krishna is one of the seven holy cities of the Hindu religion. Beautiful temples and the sacred Yamuna River add to the spiritual atmosphere.
It takes about two hours and twenty minutes to drive to Mathura from Delhi Airport if the traffic is light. Car parking in the city can be difficult during pilgrimage times: Janmastani (August/September) and Holi (February/March). There are some car parks in the city, and hotels with spaces for guests.
