Ronaldsway Airport

This information is correct as of October 2016.

Isle of Man Airport (also known as Ronaldsway Airport) is the Isle of Man's main airport. It's in the south of the island, about seven miles from Douglas. Most of the flights from Ronaldsway are to and from the UK, but there are a couple of continental routes in the pipeline. It was the hub for Manx Airlines, which stopped operating in 2002. The airport's most popular routes are to Liverpool, London and Manchester.

Getting to & from the Airport

One of the island's major roads, the A5, passes the airport. Head east on the A5 for Douglas and west for Castletown and Port Erin. To reach Peel, head west on the A5 and then go north onto the A3. The Isle of Man is known for its fantastic driving routes, so we highly recommend booking car hire from Isle of Man Airport.

Trains hide

There's no train station at Isle of Man Airport. If you want to take public transport, you'll need to take a bus. There are quite a few routes serving the main towns on the island. If you want to head off the beaten track it's best to hire a car.

Buses hide

Buses are the only public transport option from the airport. Thankfully there are quite a few to choose from.

· Routes 1, 1A and 2  call at Douglas, Santon, Ballasalla, Castletown and Port Erin during the day from Monday to Saturday.

· During Sundays, early mornings and evenings the previous route is handled by numbers 10, 11, 11A, 12 and 12A.

· Services 8 and 8A call at Peel, Foxdale and Port Erin during the day from Monday to Saturday.

Taxi hide

There's a taxi rank outside the main entrance. Taxis are metered, and the fare will depend on where you want to go on the island. You should expect to pay about £14 to Douglas, £18 to Port Erin and Port St Mary, £20 to Peel and Laxey, £22 to Kirk Michael and £30 to Ramsay. Prices do vary, these are rough estimates.
