Flights to Reus

Situated on the Costa Dorada, or the Golden Coast, just a hop skip and jump from Barcelona, there are plenty of reasons to book flights to Reus. The weather, the nearby coast, and the historic beauty of Reus itself are only a few. With budget airlines running flights to Reus throughout the year, it’s no wonder that this hidden gem is becoming more popular with tourists.

Things to look out for in Reus

The centre of Reus bustles with people browsing boutique shops and sipping fruit juice on the pavement café terraces. The famous architect Antoni Gaudi was born in Reus, and although none of his famous buildings stand in Reus itself, the city boasts many examples of Catalan modernist architecture.

For an explosive time, book flights to Reus to coincide with the town’s famous festivals: Fiesta Mayor de Sant Pere on June 29th and Mare de Déu de la Misericòrdia on September 25th which celebrate the beginning and end of summer, respectively. The focal point of both festivals is the Tronada, where a collection of gunpowder filled mortars are set off all around the city’s main square.

If you’re planning on visiting Barcelona, consider booking flights to Reus: only a short drive away from the Catalonian Capital, it often works out cheaper than flying direct.

Getting around Reus

Reus Airport is well connected, with bus timetables matching up well with flight arrival times. There’s a local bus which takes visitors straight to the center of Reus. If you want to explore a little more of Catalonia there are also direct buses to Barcelona and Tarragona as well as a circuit bus running through La Pineda, Salou, and Cambrils.

Reus itself is small enough to explore on foot. There are good public transport links to nearby towns, if you want a change of scene. Catch the bus to Salou for a day at the beach, or take the train into Barcelona for some big city atmosphere. Tarragona has lots of Roman architecture and makes for an interesting day trip.

What to bring on a holiday to Reus

No vaccinations are required for those flying to Reus, but don’t forget to pack your E111 European Health Insurance card in case of emergencies. The Mediterranean climate means warm days and chilly nights so be sure to pack a sunhat, sunglasses and plenty of sunscreen as well as a cardigan to slip on when the sun goes down.
