The new service - the airline's sixth from Gatwick - will commence on January 7th and comes after Ryanair's recent announcement of new routes to Barcelona (Girona) and Alicante.
Commenting on the new service, Ryanair's Stephen McNamara said that the airline's new European routes would offer passengers more choice.
"Our Barcelona (Girona) and Alicante routes have already proved a big hit with passengers and we are confident that our new service to Dusseldorf (Weeze) will be just as successful," he said.
The new service will replace Ryanair's existing route to Dusseldorf from Stansted, where the carrier was forced to reduce its capacity by 20 percent following an increase in airport costs.
Ryanair celebrated the launch of the new route by releasing one million £10 seats for travel in December, January and February, with passengers having until Sunday (November 30th) to purchase a discounted ticket.
The airline recently criticised proposals by Blackpool Airport to introduce an Airline Development Fee, something that's set to affect a number of flight passengers.
