Wizz Air is set to establish a new base in Timisoara, Romania in spring 2009 with five new routes.
Cheap flights from Timisoara to Barcelona, Paris, Milan Bergamo, Venice Treviso and Valencia will be launched following the opening of the new base in March 2009.
John Stephenson, chief commercial officer at Wizz Air, said: "Timisoara will become Wizz Air's third operating base in Romania.
"With 22 weekly flights we will become the largest low cost airline offering the most routes and the biggest capacity to passengers travelling to [and] from the Banat region."
Wizz Air will also launch new flights to London, Rome and Dortmund from December 2008, increasing from three to four flights per week in time for the opening of the Timisoara base.
The carrier last month became the first airline to offer cheap flights from its Ukraine base at Kiev Borispol Airport with a route to Simferopol.
