Cheap flights carrier Ryanair has reintroduced daily flights to Newquay Cornwall Airport from Stansted.
The route, which is primarily aimed at holidaymakers and leisure travellers, came into effect yesterday (March 2nd).
Cornwall County Council's economic portfolio holder Andrew Mitchell said the introduction of the flight will offer travellers a fast link between Cornwall and London and East Anglia.
"It also supports our belief that the future of the airport is bright and together with Ryanair and our other airlines, we will continue to play an important role in the development of airline passenger services to and from Cornwall," he said.
Airport chiefs have said they hope to see an increase in visitors to Cornwall with predictions that more holidaymakers could book trips closer to home.
To celebrate the launch of the flight, Ryanair is offering one million discounted seats for its flights to Europe in March, April and May.
Ryanair announced last month that it had entered into a new partnership with Costa Cruises.
