The French city is already a popular holiday destination for the Brits, with several flights to Nantes already in operation from other UK airports, including Cardiff, Liverpool, London Stansted, East Midlands and Bournemouth.
The 6th largest city in France, Nantes has a wealth of waterways making it one of the most desirable places to live in the country and the fourth most popular destination in France for holidaymakers.
It’s expected that the new route will attract travellers wanting to explore a new city break destination and will also act as a base for trips around the Loire valley region.
The new route follows Gatwick’s recent news of Air Europa’s new long haul connections for South America. EasyJet also offer routes from Gatwick to over 60 other destinations around Europe including flights to Amsterdam, Prague, Munich, Tenerife, Milan and Sharm El Sheik.
