More passengers from the UK could book flights to Croatia after the country's government opened up its property market to foreign buyers.
According to Paul Collins, property editor at BuyAssociation, more people will fly to the Mediterranean country because the Croatian government appears keen to attract foreign investment.
"There is a huge amount of history and culture in Croatia and the climate is fantastic for people going on holiday from northern Europe," he said.
"I would expect a lot of people to be going there within the next few years."
Mr Collins also praised the "forward-thinking" Croatian government after their decision to allow foreigners to purchase property in the country on the same terms at native Croats.
According to recent figures, the country enjoyed a three percent rise in foreign visitors in October 2008 compared to October 2007.
Tourists visited the country for a total of 1,522,237 nights during the 12-month period, with 78 percent of visitors coming from foreign countries.
