Smugglers busted in monkey business

Is that a monkey in your pants or are you just pleased to see me? Custom officials at Delhi airport were stunned to find a 17cm-long, 150g loris monkey hidden in a would-be smuggler’s underwear after noticing a suspiciously-sized bulge. The man was part of a three-man operation which had been forced to dump a second monkey in a bin at the airport. Both of these lovely creatures are now enjoying a little tlc courtesy of People For Animals, India's largest animal welfare organisation.

Boris-Island plans unveiled

Bo-Jo Island takes a step closer to becoming a reality, as the latest proposal from architects Gensler were revealed last week. And… it looks like a spaceship. London Mayor Boris Johnson has previously been supported the airport in the Thames Estuary as a possible alternative to the controversial third runway at Heathrow. The’ London Britannia Airport’ would feature four floating runways, with space to accommodate six landing strips in total. However, government officials have said that no decisions will be made before the next general election.

50 Shades left-behind

Has 50 Shades had its 15 minutes of fame? The Christmas chocolates are only just out in Asda and yet the spotlight on ‘this summer’s hottest read’ is already shining elsewhere. And while we can safely say that we didn’t eagerly get the whole trilogy for our Kindle, honest, a survey by Travelodge has revealed that E.L. James’s first masterpiece of ‘mummy porn’ is the book most likely to be left behind in a hotel room. The other two volumes joined it, coming fourth and seventh on the list. Perhaps it’s more about the embarrassment of bringing it home again?

Girl packs HERSELF in suitcase – in record time

People sticking needles in their faces, dogs riding skateboards and the fastest 100m on a space hopper: it can only be Guinness Book of World Record time! And this 57th edition features Leslie Tipton, who holds the world record for packing oneself into a suitcase in the fastest time. She managed to fold herself into her luggage in 5.43 seconds back in 2009 and remains the current record holder. Not sure she quite gets the idea about excess baggage fees…

CORRECTION:

Last week we told you about Kate 'n’ Wills’ romantic trip to Provence prior to their royal engagements in SE Asia. It seems that our flippant remark about the lack of nude photos from this royal romp proved too tempting for fate. As you may know, topless photos of Kate have been leaked by a French gossip mag. The couple were staying in a secluded resort on a private trip, and so the French media have been slammed by royal officials, while the couple are said to be ‘saddened’ by the decision to publish. We apologise to any of our readers who were confused by last week’s account, and promise not to make any future predictions about the state of undress of any other royal family members.
