
The Scottish airport scooped the award for Best Airport With Over Six Million Passengers, beating off competition from the likes of Manchester and Birmingham.
Recognising excellence in a number of areas, the award was voted for by representatives of UK airlines that are members of the British Air Transport Association.
Amanda McMillan, Glasgow Airport's managing director, said that receiving the award is a "great honour".
"The award is testament to the fantastic effort that our terminal and airfield teams put in when they come to work," she commented.
"We have faced some difficult operational challenges this year such as the prolonged cold snap and volcanic ash disruption, but the response from our people was exceptional."
Newcastle Airport scooped the prize for Best Airport With Up To Six Million Passengers.
Last month, cheap flights carrier Jet2.com named Glasgow Airport as its eighth and newest base, which will see the launch of services to nine new destinations.
