Flights to Copenhagen to be launched by Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways will introduce non-stop flights to Copenhagen from Doha, the carrier's second Scandinavian destination, on March 30th.

Already serving Stockholm, the airline will operate flights to the Danish capital in its capacity as the only Gulf carrier serving the region.

On April 5th, Qatar Airways will introduce four weekly flights to Ankara from Doha, which will complement existing services to Istanbul.

Akbar Al Baker, the airline's chief executive officer, said the next few months represent an "exciting period of growth" for the airline.

"It further strengthens our resolve to fly to the heart of political and business capital cities across the world, giving passengers more choice to get to their final destination," he commented.

Further route expansion comes in the form of flights to Tokyo via Osaka from Doha, which will commence on April 26th.

Qatar Airways is due to issue an announcement shortly about its plans to launch scheduled flights to Sydney as it targets the Australian market.

Elsewhere, the airline will launch flights to Bengaluru, formerly known as Bangalore, from the Qatari capital on February 22nd.
