easyJet has been voted the best cheap flights airline by readers of Conde Nast Traveller magazine.
The carrier achieved above 90 per cent in five of the eight areas used to assess airlines in the category.
easyJet ranked highly across categories including value for money, its range of routes and child friendliness.
British Airways also performed well, scooping an award for best business airline and coming in a close second in the short-haul airline category, which was eventually won by another European carrier, Swiss Airlines.
Meanwhile, BMI British Midland came third for best overall airline for short-haul flights.
This follows the announcement that easyJet is celebrating its 10th anniversary of providing routes out of Northern Ireland to destinations around Europe.
Andy Harrison, chief executive at the carrier, said: "'We have brought millions of visitors to the region and have provided employment both directly and indirectly for more than 20,000 people."
