Ryanair has done it again. Always attracting publicity for the right reasons, ‘Europe’s only ultra-low cost airline’ recently unveiled its 2013 Cabin Crew Charity Calendar, ‘The girls of Ryanair’, featuring, as they put it, ‘the sexiest Ryanair cabin crew stunners’.
Some lady readers may be disappointed to learn that the calendar only features female crew members (of a limited age range) who all pose in bikinis and underwear. However, while this may not appeal to everyone, it is all for a good cause. Ryanair is set to donate the entire proceeds to Warsaw-based TVN Foundation, one of the largest charities in Poland. With a print run of 10,000 copies and retailing at €10, Ryanair hopes the calendar will raise €100,000 for the charity.
First published in 2008, the cabin crew calendar courted controversy last year when the Advertising Standards Authority banned Ryanair’s ad campaign for the work, due to its ‘sexist’ nature and sexually suggestive images. Although the women featured in the calendar participated voluntarily, thousands of people complained to the ASA.
You can buy the calendar for yourself on board all Ryanair flights and at Ryanair.com. If you really want to find out more about the shooting of the calendar, watch the airline’s official video below:
