Low cost Italian carrier Blu-express has announced a new domestic flight from Rome to Pantelleria.
The summer service will operate later this month from Fiumicino airport and will run twice a week until the end of September.
As well as offering cheap flights to Nice, the airline serves the Italian cities of Turin and Catania.
Flights to Catania were added from Blu-express's Rome base last October, with seasonal flights to Madrid operating last summer.
Other new domestic routes in Italy have been announced by flag carrier Alitalia's main rival Air One.
The airline has increased its presence at Milan Malpensa Airport. As well as domestic flights, Air One has added flights to the US cities of Boston and Chicago from Milan, with new routes to Brussels, Athens, Bari and Lamezia Terme due to start later this month.
In related Italian airline news, MyAir has two new flights to Ibiza planned for this month; services from Bologna Guglielmo Marconi and Milan Orio al Serio will connect passengers with the Balearic island.
