The new route will see flights depart from London Heathrow five times per week, beginning on December 7th 2008.
BA area commercial manager, Amanda Amos, told Business Standard: "India is an important market to be in right now as its customer base is growing.
"We are listening to what the Indian customer wants from us and will try and offer the same."
This will take the total number of flights across different routes operated between the two countries by BA to 48 per week.
The move follows a similar announcement from Indian carrier Kingfisher, which will begin its new services on September 3rd.
BA is reportedly reviewing its flights from the UK to India and recently decided to move its Mumbai to London route to the new Heathrow Terminal 5.
