Travel Tip #13 – book your airport parking in advance

The cost of parking your car at the airport can be more than the flight these days as airports strive to make the most of those lucrative swathes of tarmac.

A quick check for booking one week’s airport parking at Heathrow Terminal 1 in November threw up prices ranging from £41.40 (which was actually for a car park 15 minutes away with a bus transfer) to a whopping £136.70 (which was for valet parking with a “professional hand car clean”).

However, if you turn up on the day without pre-booking, expect to pay 50-60% more than this.

Even if you’re just using the short stay car park, there are savings to be made by pre-booking online.
