Two single flights can be cheaper than a return. And you don’t necessarily need to fly back with the same airline.

Using Skyscanner's "flexible" search tool, you can mix and match your airlines to find the cheapest price, or the times which suit you best.

It's even worth considering flying back to or from a different airport – although of course that doesn’t work if you've left your car at the departure airport!
