Flybe to launch number of new flights next summer

Friday 2 October 2009

Regional airline Flybe will launch a number of new flights to European destinations as part of its 2010 summer schedule.

The carrier has said that early sales are "already brisk" from travellers looking to book their sun and sea routes early, with the most popular being those from London Gatwick and those to and from the Channel Islands.

Flybe chief commercial officer Mike Rutter said the launch of additional flights allow holidaymakers more opportunity to "plan cost effective travel for next summer as early as possible".

"The travel period currently available also includes the Easter holiday and bank holidays, which is great news for families looking for a late spring break or long weekend post exams," he commented.

Travellers in the West Midlands have a number of exciting routes to choose from, with flights to Paris Charles De Gaulle, Milan Malpensa and Stuttgart, among others, operating from Birmingham International Airport.

Flybe recently reported a "healthy upsurge in bookings" from its base at London Gatwick.
