Friday 30 January 2009

fast.growth.award.jpgSkyscanner has been short listed as a finalist for the ‘Angel or VC-backed Business of the Year’ & ‘Innovative Business of the Year’ awards.

Run by Growing Business Magazine, the awards celebrate the success of the UK’s most talented entrepreneurs and cutting edge businesses.

The final judging day will take place in February at the prestigious annual ‘Fast Growth Business Awards Dinner’, held at the London Marriott Hotel, where a judging panel including Dragon’s Den’s James Caan, Kanya King founder of the MOBO organisation and other leading UK entrepreneurs and business people will announce the winners.

Gareth Williams, co-founder and Skyscanner CEO was delighted with the news:

“It’s an honour to have been short listed for this award. Skyscanner is continually bringing innovation to the online travel industry, so it’s great to be recognised for our success.”

Following on from the launch of ‘Skytools’ – a suite of free online widget  tools, Skyscanner recently launched its affiliate programme that allows partners to use their industry-first creatives.

Other recent new additions include a revamped travel tips and ideas section of the site, ‘Airmail’ – a new weekly newsletter, and new airport pages with live flight details and information on airports around the around.
