Europe has already seen an excellent start to its winter season and with snowstorms continuing to dump huge amounts of snow over many of Europe’s ski resorts, this week promises to be another great week on the slopes.

France
The French Alps offered great skiing with sunny skies and bluebird condition over the weekend.  Extremely heavy snow is now falling and some ski resorts are struggling to open all lifts due to the heavy conditions. After the storm passes, we should see some excellent powder especially in the Espace Killy (Val D’isere, Tignes). Find cheap flights to Geneva

Switzerland
Heavy snow is forecast for the whole of Switzerland during the early part of this week, with up to half a meter expected in ski resorts such as Zermatt and Saas Fee, so expect to find great Swiss skiing this week. Find cheap flights to Zurich 

Italy
The resorts getting big snowfalls this week are in the Northern Italian Alps – close to the Swiss and French borders. So much snow has fallen that some ski resorts have been forced to temporarily close their lifts. Find cheap flights to Milan Bergamo

Best of the rest:

Austria – good conditions with light snow forecast for most Austrian ski resorts. Find cheap flights to Salzburg

Canada – Lots of snow for British Columbia and Alberta – very cold but good powder. Find cheap flights to Vancouver and Calgary

Andorra – Fresh snow fell over the weekend adding to the snow base, light snow continued to fall on Monday. Find cheap flights to Toulouse
