Low-cost carrier Vueling is to launch a new route between Seville and Tenerife this winter.
The
cheap flights will run from December 15th 2008. However, the airline has not yet announced when the route is scheduled to end.
Flights on the route will operate four times per week.
The Spanish carrier's decision to add an additional service comes amid what is widely being referred to as a sharp economic slowdown in the country.
It may also surprise many in the industry following Vueling's announcement last month that passenger traffic fell by 10.9 percent year-on-year to 692,780.
The carrier is expected to reduce its fleet by around one third by the end of this year, after figures from the airline showed that there had been a 5.3 percent drop in Vueling's load factor, which measures how far the airline falls below capacity, in August compared to 12 months previous.
The airline also operated an average of 1.5 fewer aircraft last month than in August 2007.
