Turkish Airlines has announced new
flights to Istanbul from
Birmingham International Airport.
Turkey's flag carrier will introduce flights to Istanbul on December 15th, representing the first time a direct link to the city has been available from the West Midlands terminal.
Five flights to Istanbul a week will operate from Birmingham, with the service designed to make it easy for passengers to connect with other Turkish Airlines flights to domestic destinations within the country.
The announcement of new flights from Turkish Airlines follows news from earlier this week that the carrier has acquired two new aircraft as part of ongoing expansion plans to celebrate its 75th anniversary.
Two Boeing 737-800 aircraft were delivered to the airline on Monday.
Flights to Minsk from Istanbul were increased last month as part of the same expansion plan, with the carrier now flying to the capital of Belarus on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
