Ryanair launches new Dusseldorf route

Ryanair will be launching a new flight to Dusseldorf from Birmingham for the winter season.

The new daily service will depart from the carrier's Birmingham International Airport base in the UK and land at Weeze airport in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Flights will begin on October 27th and are expected to bring an additional 100,000 passengers into the German city.

Peter Vella, business development director at Birmingham International Airport, told Peanuts Online: "This route will mean that Ryanair have launched a staggering thirty-two new routes from Birmingham International Airport, ensuring that there is more choice for people jetting off from their local airport."

Ryanair recently announced that its annual profits had slumped by 85 per cent and said that it would temporarily stop flying to several airports across Europe.

The airline has even suggested it may impose a hand-luggage only policy on some of its routes in a bid to combat rising oil prices, although this is only expected to apply to non-tourist flights.
