Brits have been encouraged to consider cheap flights to New York this summer as the city gears up to host some "amazing events and festivals".
This is according to Anna Catchpole, NYC & Company's UK public relations manager, who said that one of the highlights of the Big Apple this summer will be the music concerts taking place in Central Park.
Other highlights include music events at the Water Taxi Beaches and Brooklyn's outdoor film festivals.
"Those looking to do something a little different this summer should pay a visit to Governors Island, just a five minute water taxi takes you to an amazing green space offering stunning views of the Statue of Liberty," she commented.
New York recently entered Skyscanner's list of the most popular destinations for UK travellers this summer. The Big Apple came in eighth place, ahead of rival destination Orlando, which was ninth.
According to NYC & Company, some 10.6 million people travelled to the Big Apple during the first three months of this year, an 11 percent increase from the figure recorded during the same period in 2009.
