A spokeswoman from Tignes Developpement, which is responsible for promoting the Tignes ski resort in the French Alps, said that skiing during early spring is the "perfect time to taste the area".
Because Tignes is located in a high altitude area, snow is guaranteed even after the traditional ski season has drawn to a close.
"We can ski all the months of the year. The slopes are already open from September 25th until May 8th," the spokeswoman explained.
"The spring off piste skiing is very famous. It is warmer and still a very good snow, it is the perfect time to taste the area."
Most skiers travelling to Tignes book flights to Geneva and Lyon, although the resort can also be accessed via flights to Chambery and Grenoble.
Direct8.com recently named Tignes as the best European ski destination for high altitude skiing.
