The main goal for the team is to increase sessions to the Skyscanner website and mobile platforms in each of their markets. This is firstly achieved by ensuring that Skyscanner products are correctly localised. We then work very closely with our commercial team to establish key relationships with partners.
Our Market Development Managers acquire new sessions to the site through a range of marketing channels such as PR, SEO, Paid Search, Display Advertising, Affiliate Programmes and Social Media. To ensure that we implement the correct strategy for each channel they work very closely with the Marketing and Search teams.
Our MDMs have a very close affinity with the markets they manage and are continually updating market and competitor research to ensure that the products, website partners and marketing strategies are optimal. They also attend the latest conferences in each of their markets to ensure that we keep up to date with the latest marketing techniques.
Skyscanner is growing very fast and, to ensure that we continue to grow in each of the markets, the MDMs are always trying innovative ways to attract new visitors to the site including Twitter Travel Chats, Facebook competitions and implementing the latest display adverting techniques.
