Hotels in Regina

The Queen City’s great museums, beautiful parks, and buzzing nightlife ensure that hotels in Regina make the perfect base for a holiday in Saskatchewan.

Regina may be smaller than Saskatoon, but it’s the capital of the prairie province and in 2013 the city was ranked as one of the top 20 Canadian cities to live in by MoneySense. With so much to see, do and enjoy, it’s not hard to see why.

Most of the hotels in Regina can be found along Victoria Avenue, where the Trans-Canada Highway passes through town. The city is small and easy to wander around on foot, although you should definitely hire a car if you’re planning on getting out and exploring more of the province.

One of the most interesting neighbourhoods to visit in Regina is the Warehouse District. The old red brick buildings are home to trendy loft style apartments and a huge number of independent shops and other businesses. You can enjoy a historic walking tour in the area, or visit during the evening when the Dewdney Strip comes to live. Here you’ll find nightlife to suit all tastes, from quiet pubs to buzzing live music venues, quiet craft breweries to trendy bars.

Another neighbourhood worth exploring is Cathedral Village. The area is a charming spot for a wander, and is home to trendy cafes, independent boutiques, and great little restaurants. There’s an interesting arts festival which takes place in May, and throughout December the village is a hub of festive activity.

As well as trendy neighbourhoods and a fantastic indie shopping scene, Regina also has more than its fair share of parks. The city boasts more green space per capita than any other major Canadian city.

During the summer you’ll find plenty of leafy areas to relax in, perfect for a picnic. One of the best outdoor areas is Wascana Centre, a huge park surrounding a man-made lake. It’s one of the largest parks in North America and has plenty of attractions. If you’re feeling active you can enjoy the walking and cycling trails or hire a boat for a day on the lake. The park also has a handful of museums and art galleries. Victoria Park is another beauty spot in the city, and plays host to lots of exciting events during the summer and winter months.

There are lots of great places to stay in Regina, and with Skyscanner it’s easy to find the right one.
