Hotels in Madrid

Planning a trip to sunny Madrid? Let Skyscanner find you great deals on Madrid hotels.

The sun drenched capital of Spain is known not only for its rich cultural heritage and breath-taking architecture but also some of the liveliest nightlife in the world!

With one of the cheapest and most efficient metro systems in Europe, and buses covering the routes the metro doesn’t, getting around the city is a breeze. The Puerta del Sol, Madrid’s vibrant main square, is the heart of the city’s vibrant scene, while Plaza Mayor is the most famous, surrounded by cafes, shops and restaurants. Don’t miss the enormous Mercado de San Miguel, a traditional indoor market bursting at the seams with mouth-watering produce. If you see only one architectural wonder, make it The Palacio Real (Royal Palace) in the old part of the city, Los Austrias. It’s the most beautiful building in Madrid and one of the largest palaces in the world.

Madrid hotels range from budget backpacker to five star grandeur. In the ‘ethnic’ areas to the south, great hostels can be found for just a few euro while the Salamanca district boasts the most expensive accommodation.  If you want to be close to the nightlife, the Asturias hotel in hip Puerta del Sol, is surrounded by clubs and bars. Founded in 1610, the Hotel Petit Palace del Peine is the oldest hotel in Madrid, situated in the beautiful historic centre.

The Museo del Prado, in the Museum district, is home to an astonishing collection of works, while the Museo de la Ciudad tells the story of Madrid. Soak up the sunshine in El Retiro Park or the Royal Botanic Gardens or take the family to Zoo Aquarium Madrid. The city’s largest flea market, El Rastro, in the charming Lavapies district, and should provide ample opportunity for shopaholics to get their fix.

As the Spanish sun sets on the city, head to Corral de la Moreria for world famous flamenco and fantastic food and wine under the stars.

Did you know..?

If you're in need for sun, then booking flights to Madrid should be high on your to-do list, as it is the place to be with more cloud-free days than any other city in Europe.

Don’t miss the stunning, and little visited, Ermita de San Antonio de la Florida where Goya is buried. His beautiful frescoes adorn the ceiling.

If you’re in Madrid with the whole family, take the kids to the Aquasur, a fantastic open air pool with five water slides and lots of outdoor space.
