Port Erin’s huge beach was popular with Victorian tourists, and many of the hotels date back to the resort’s glory days. It’s still a favourite with families and water sports enthusiasts. The island’s only nine-hole golf course can be found in the nearby village of Port St Mary, and Castletown is home to one of Europe’s best preserved medieval fortresses.
