Much more than just “Miami Vice”, “CSI”, alligators, beaches and resorts... Now Miami has got the bright and shiny (and probably sunniest) new Skyscanner office (although our Singapore office may disagree!). It is our place in the sun, but also our home for the Americas.
Under the management of Alexander Rahe, our team in the Americas are taking on a big challenge, helping us reach our goal of being the world’s most trusted and used travel site. And they could not have had a better start. On December 12th we were honoured by Miami Dade County with the keys to the city and county.
At a formal Key Ceremony & Holiday Reception of the Beacon Council our General Manager for the Americas received the keys to the city from Carlos A. Gimenez, the Mayor of Miami-Dade County, as recognition to Skyscanner’s investment and creation of jobs in Miami. “This gesture makes Miami officially our home and we appreciate the warm welcome that the mayor and his delegation have given us”, explains Alexander Rahe.
Alongside Skyscanner, 37 other multinational companies such as ATR North America, Boeing Flight Services, IKEA, KTB USA and Wal-Mart Stores East were recognised for their contribution to the regional growth and supporting economic development of Miami. Our general manager in the Americas explains that “for us, this has only been possible because of the hard work and accomplishments that Skyscanner has had over the years”.
