General Information Although mostly known for their package holidays many don’t realise that Thomson Airways is the world's largest charter airline, offering scheduled and charter flights from the UK to destinations across Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. The Airline began on 1 November 2008, as a result of the merger of Thomsonfly and First Choice Airways. Thomson Airways has its headquartered in Luton in the UK. Check-In Information If you’re flying very early there is a ‘day before’ check-in service available but only at Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham airports – it’s free, and you don’t need to pre-book. This service is available to customers travelling with Thomson Airways. There is no online check-in available at present so you need to check-in at the airport. When flying from the UK, check-in desks are usually open 2 – 3 hours prior to your departure time, and you should aim to be at the airport check-in desk at least two hours prior to departure. If you’re taking a long haul flight, i.e. a flight over five hours, then you should check-in three hours before your flight is due to depart. Luggage Information As with all airlines, there are strict conditions when it comes to how much luggage you can take on a flight. Always check with the airline before you travel. What’s Included and What’s Not On short-haul flights the airline offer a range of hot and cold snacks that you can purchase. On a long haul flight, that is any flight over 5 hours, in-flight meals are included in your ticket price. The in-flight magazine is free and there is also a chance to purchase many duty free items on both long and short haul flights. If you want to treat someone you can pre-order champagne and chocolates to be waiting for you on the plane when you board! You can also upgrade your seat in advance for one with more legroom.
