KLM Royal Dutch Airlines was founded on 7 October, 1919 to serve the Netherlands and its colonies. KLM is today the oldest airline still operating under its original name. KLM has been part of the Air France KLM group since the merger in 2004.It's first offices were in the Hague and they were also the first European airline to offer a frequent flyer loyalty program.
How to Check In
For most flights, you can check-in online at KLM.com from up to 30 hours to 1 hour before departure. Make sure you print off your boarding pass then all you have to do before departure is drop off your check-in baggage at a baggage drop-off point at the airport. At most airports, you can drop off your baggage starting at 2 hours before your flight departs If you are unable to check-in online, you can still do so at the self-service check-in machines at the airport. The check-in desks at Schiphol airport are open from 05:00 am for all flights that depart that day and the desk staff will be happy to help you check-in on arrival. At Schiphol airport you can deliver your baggage to a self-service baggage machines in Departure Hall 2 is you are already checked in, either online or at one of the self-service check-in machines; you have not yet checked in any baggage; you have no more than 2 pieces of baggage and if you have all your valid travel documents.
As with all airlines, there are restrictions when it comes to how much baggage you are allowed to check-in or take on board the flight. Always check with the airline before you travel. For up to date information on baggage allowance and charges, go to the KLM website.
